Alireza Atri, MD, PhD is a renowned cognitive neurologist and Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and Related Disorders (ADRD) clinician-scientist. Dr. Atri is Chief Medical Officer of Banner Research (Banner Alzheimer’s Institutes, Phoenix and Tucson) and Director of the Banner Sun Health Research Institute (Sun City), AZ. He serves as Associate Director of the NIA/NIH-funded Arizona Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (AZ-ADRC), Leader of the AZ-ADRC Clinical Core, and Co-Leader of the Biomarker Core; and on the part-time faculty at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and Harvard Medical School (HMS), Boston, MA, USA. Dr. Atri holds degrees from UCLA (Ph.D. Biomathematics), UCSF (M.D.) and Harvard Medical School/MIT (M.M.Sc.). He completed internship and residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital-Brigham and Women’s Hospital-HMS programs; and fellowships at MGH/HMS (Cognitive Neurology), Boston University (Cognitive/Computational Neuroscience) and MIT (Experimental Therapeutics). He is a widely published and grant-funded researcher, clinician and educator who serves in a leadership capacity on several global AD/ADRD experimental therapeutics and biomarker programs, clinical trials consortia, and ADRD-related workgroups.

She is a diagnostic neuroradiologist and member of the Aging and Dementia Imaging Research Laboratory, which serves as the central MRI lab for multiple observational and therapeutic studies in Alzheimer’s disease. Her research interests include the temporal evolution of Alzheimer’s disease biomarkers and amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA).

Maria Vittoria Spampinato, MD is an academic radiologist and leader at the Medical University of South Carolina, a comprehensive academic health system serving South Carolina. In her dual role as the Vice Chair of Faculty Development and Neuroradiology Division Director, Dr. Spampinato’s mission is to advance neuroimaging services, to train the next generation of healthcare professionals, and to promote the academic advancement and well-being of the Radiology Faculty in alignment with MUSC Health’s strategic growth.
Dr. Spampinato has been a faculty member of the MUSC Department of Radiology for 19 years. Since assuming the role of Neuroradiology Division Director in 2013, Vittoria has led several initiatives that have improved the quality and safety of patient care, optimized resource utilization, and standardized imaging protocols across the MUSC Healthcare system. Vittoria’s research contributions have yielded 75 peer-reviewed publications. A dedicated educator, she has helped train over 110 radiology residents and 45 neuroradiology fellows, nine of whom are faculty members at MUSC.
